TRADITIONAL TAVERNS IN MADRID´S MOST BOOKISH DISTRICT

The Literary Quarter was once home to Spain’s illustrious writers of the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, the charming pedestrian district is a popular area teeming with interesting bars, cafes, pastry shops and the best old taverns.

According to tradition, Madrid is the place to taste Tapas, drink wine or small beers accompainied by calamari  sandwich, mojama with toasted almond, olives and wine  indeed ! These traditional establishments have been in operation for more than 100 years.

This tour focuses in the time period of the famous writer Cervantes! On this walking tour of Old Madrid, you will discover an area that was at one time awash with great composers, writers, comics and poets: The district of the Muses. This is a wonderful experience that will excite you and bring you back in time!

We can mix the food with a bit of history visiting a traditional house; this one belonged to Lope de Vega , a contemporany of William Shakespeare and Cervantes, and a great writer, poet, playwright and dramatist.

Continuing, we will visit our favorite Taverns! Remember that we are in the authentically perfect location for “Tapas”.

Let us show you incredible places where the locals love to go.
